Yesterday... 5-20-08 ... my friend and I drove down south, to the National Bison Range, just outside of Moiese, Montana, between Polson and Missoula.
The Bison Range hosts Buffalo, Antelope, Many wildflowers, birds, Elk ( which we didn't see any of, unfortunately), Coyote..again, not spotted and other features for a feast to the eyes.
Here are some images I took. You may wish to open some of the "DISTANT" shots, to full size, as I took images of the Buffalo herds, from the top of the mountain, looking down on them.
The Buffalo are really scruffy looking, losing their winter coats. But, as Summer arrives and more tourists are driving around the ranges, the buffalo and Antelope eventually move further from the roads, for privacy and quiet.
The only negative things were the wind and rain, but the rain passed fairly quickly. And the next irritation was the TICKS, blowing in the wind and landing upon our very unwilling bodies!! No.. I didn't take pics of the ticks!! They were tossed as fast as found!! ( I still feel "crawly" all over, today!! )
Hope you enjoy!
